This is my first tattoo which I got done today! I love it, I can't stop looking at the photo! It only took an hour and a half from start to finish which is great :)

The design has a lot of meaning behind it. It's a memorial for a friend who died a few months ago and I think she'd approve of it if she could see it now.

The peacock feather symbolises how physically beautiful she was, how outgoing and bright and fun. The more subtle meaning stemming from Buddhist symbolism is being careful of your actions.

'Hakuna Matata' is obviously from Disney's Lion King which was one of her favourite films and pretty much sums up her philosophy of life. Hakuna Matata translates literally from Swahili as 'There are no worries here'.

I love it. I'm so glad I got it done :)

May I know where did you get your tattoo done? I am planning to get a feather tattoo but given it would be my first..I really don't want to mess it up :)

I'm not sure where you're from so I don't know if it'll be of much use to you but I got mine done at Artistic Tattooing in Merseyside, England. But if you want to make sure your first tattoo looks nice just talk to a few other people with tattoos and ask some artists if you can see their portfolios so you get an idea of who would be best :)
